project
The Master Program in Architecture of the Ship and Yacht of the University Iuav of
Venice was born in 2009 in order to bring Naval Design back to academic curriculum
of study, through a school that, with style and elegance, in synergy with the market
and shipbuilding, acts as a link between academic and professional world.
objectives
Scope of the Master N+Y is managerial and entrepreneurial training. The study
program is able to form at the academic level a professional among the most
requested figures, who can design and manage the process of building of the
marine mean of transportation and environment. Thanks to the teaching staff’s
very high profile, the Master Program will be able to form a motivated and
well-prepared professional, a mix of cultural knowledge, design skill, technical
competence, manager ability and business strategy.
curriculum
The Master N+Y curriculum takes into account the fact that a ship is a complex
product in which various factors and integrated systems interact, from the
structural-constructive to the hydrodynamic-static ones, to the plant-mechanical
one, driving force, dwelling and its accessory functions. In addition to this, the
market has a strong influence on design choices, especially on the ones within
interior spaces. For this reason, continuous checks with the real market demand,
visits to shipyards, architectural firms, group trips to boat shows and participation
in seminars and conferences on naval and marine market are essential.
candidate profile and areas of employment
The course aims to reinforce the basic knowledge of architects and engineers who
know about the subject, but don’t have much of experience. Besides, the Master
program aims to address those graduated students who have not found their
future pathway, yet, but have a strong interest in the field.

wish to acquire or improve specific skills in the design and construction of the ship and
the yacht, includes a semester of theory classes held by Iuav faculty and professionals

Design, d) Marketing and port facilities. The second half of the Master includes a 3
months period of training internship, during which the students will develop their
thesis design on a topic related to the company production. The Master thesis is
the business card of the new professionals, already appreciated by the company as
interns, often transformed in definitive employments.

Abbiamo iniziato dallo squero Tramontin
